Shake-N-Go Fashion To Close Port Washington Warehouse, Laying Off 92 Employees


Shake-N-Go Fashion, Inc. filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on November 2. The notice indicates the company will close its Port Washington facility and lay off 92 employees in early 2018.

Business Closing

Shake-N-Go designs and manufacturers human and synthetic hair products. Its brands include COS, Moisture Remy Rain, Saga, Milkyway Pure, Freetress, Equal and QUE by Milkyway. The company was established in 1991 and has grown into the world’s largest manufacturer of wigs, hairpieces, hair extensions and accessories, according to the companies website.

The company will relocate its warehouse to Suwanee, Georgia, according to the filing. The facility at 85 Harbor Road will permanently close on April 30, 2018.

The impacted employees have not bumping rights and are expected to separate between 29, 2018 and April 30, 2018. Some of the affected workers will remain on site at the NY facility.
