SAA | EVI Development, Baltimore-based development firm, announced earlier this week that it would convert the vacant warehouse at 1812 Greenmount Avenue into an apartment building for artists.
Baltimore Sun reports that the developer will offer the apartments for reduced rent to artists in exchange for painting and decorating the building. The remaining units will be rented at market rates.
The warehouse acquired in 2016 will be demolished due to its debilitated state, which is expected to begin in early 2018. A 2019 opening is planned for the building deemed “Nelson Kohl.”
The previously closed Milk & Honey Market will assume the ground floor of the four- or five-story apartment building.
