Rep. Elijah Cummings Of Maryland Will Return To Work Next Week

After undergoing a “minimally invasive” heart procedure in May, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) was set to return to work after a short hospital stay and few days rest. But, his plans were pushed back after he developed an infection.

The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee told The Baltimore Sun that he is clear to return to Capitol Hill on September 11.

Cummings underwent a trans arterial aortic valve replacement procedure to correct a “narrowing” aortic valve at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
