RDSL Urban NY Announces Layoff, Affecting 127 Workers

RDSL Urban NY LLC, a hop-on, hop-off transport touring service, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) on August 16. The notice stated that RDSL would cease operations on November 14, at which time the employees will be laid off.

The closing is attributed to “economic” challenges, according to the WARN notice.

RDSL Urban NY was doing business as Open Loop New York, offering sightseeing tours to a variety of sites, including Times Square, Central Park, One World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State Building.

The company was founded in May 2014 as Open Tour New York. As part of a global rebranding on September 3, 2014, the company was renamed Open Loop New York.

Open Loop New York operates a fleet of double-decker buses, a cruise ship and helicopters.
