The plot of Queen Sugar season 6:
The Bordelon family is back for another season of dysfunctional drama, secrets, and betrayal. The matriarch Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) returns to her roots in South Louisiana after discovering that her ex-husband has a new wife living as queen at their old plantation house.
Though she tries to maintain peace with him, tensions flare between them when they meet face-to-face again. With Ralph Angel Jr.’s help, Nova (Rutina Wesley) struggles to keep the family together while tending bar and running Sugar Drip Farms’ sugarcane harvest alongside Davis West’s son Micah (Timon Kyle Durrett).
Meanwhile, Violet (Tina Lifford), who still carries deep scars from being sexually assaulted by her husband, finds a new direction in life when she starts to write.
The season also features guest stars Rahsaan Roland Kirk III as the fictional governor of Louisiana and Niecy Nash as Ralph Angel Jr.’s lawyer who tries to help him avoid prison time after he is accused of attacking an officer.
