QuadGraphics filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on November 15. The notice indicates the company will lay off 116 employees in Columbus, Ohio.
With the help of 11 cofounders and others, Harry V. Quadracci launched Quad/Graphics on July 13, 1971. The company struggled for the next six years, at which time it began printing work for Newsweek.
Quad will close its Columbus facility as 4020 East Fifth Avenue on December 31. Affected employees who have no bumping rights are expected to separate on December 8 and continue through January 14, 2018.
