Prince George’s County Police Investigating Edmonston Police Officer-Involved Shooting


Maryland – The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a shooting involving an Edmonston Police officer. The incident occurred on February 22nd at approximately 10:15 am in Bladensburg.

ArrestThe preliminary investigation reveals the officer and the involved citizen encountered each other at a business in the 4000 block of Kenilworth Avenue. During that encounter, there was an altercation between the officer and the citizen during which the officer discharged his duty weapon, striking the citizen two times. The citizen remains hospitalized in serious condition.  The circumstances surrounding the altercation are at the center of the investigation.
