Prince George’s County Police Identify Victim In Fatal Temple Hills Pedestrian Collision


Prince George’s County Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Branch Avenue to investigate a collision involving a pedestrian at approximately 5:40 p.m. Thursday. At the scene, officers located a 79-year-old woman suffering severe injuries lying in the roadway.

The victim who has been identified as Eleanor Beecher of St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills succumbed to her injuries, according to the report.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was later transported to a local hospital for observation.

Preliminary investigation revealed Beecher attempted to cross southbound Branch Avenue, when she was struck. Police believe she was not in a crosswalk.
