Prince George’s County Police Identify Victim In District Heights Shooting


Prince George’s County, Maryland – Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting on Sunday in District Heights. The victim is 20-year-old Alashia Ervin-Bethea of Chaplin Street in Southeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tipsters will never have to give their name. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On June 10th, at approximately 10:55 am, patrol officers were called to the 2700 block of Lorring Drive for a report of a shooting. They located the victim inside of a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

Detectives are looking to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
