Prince George’s County Police Identify Victim In District Heights Pedestrian Collision


Prince George’s County Police responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at 6:22 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of Druid Place in District Heights. At the scene, the officers located an adult female suffering from trauma.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased, according to the report.

Preliminary investigation revealed a previous collision between a SUV and car at County Road and Marlboro Pike. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles stopped at the location on Druid Place and the victim who was a passenger in the SUV got out and stood behind the other vehicle, when the driver of that vehicle backed up and struck her.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene and called 911.

The victim was later identified as Lorraine Lawrence, 57, of District Heights.

The investigation is ongoing.
