Preliminarily, detectives believe a homeowner shot Parker from inside of his home, striking Parker who had broken into the homeowner’s vehicle. Detectives have recovered video from the home’s surveillance system, which shows Parker’s actions prior to the shooting. The handgun used in the shooting was recovered from the homeowner. It’s believed an additional suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Detectives do not believe the homeowner and Parker knew each other.

Preliminarily, detectives are investigating whether the homeowner’s actions were justified.

Detectives are in consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office regarding any potential criminal charges in this case.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
