Prince George’s County Police Identify Suspect In District Heights Fatal Shooting


Prince George’s County Police responded to the 6500 block of Kipling Parkway at approximately 10:50 p.m. on October 1 to investigate a reported at the shooting. At the scene, the officers located an unconscious 51-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medics pronounced the victim who was identified as Charles Wyche of Fort Washington deceased at the scene.

Through investigation, detectives were able to establish a motive and identify the suspect as Davon Freeman, 37, of the 2300 block of Delano Lane in District Heights.

Freeman was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status, according to the report.
