Prince George’s County Police Arrest Suspect In Capitol Heights Fatal Shooting

At approximately 6:20 p.m. December 28, officers were dispatched to Kenilworth Avenue at Eastern Avenue in Capitol Heights to conduct a welfare check. At the scene, officers located a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying in the roadway.

Malique Nathan Lewis

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as Armani Coles of 2nd Street in Northwest Washington.

Through investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Malique Lewis, 20- of the 1900 block of Valley Terrace in Southwest Washington.

Lewis was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and assault. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
