Prince George’s County Police Arrest Suspect In Attempted Assault In Camp Springs


Prince George’s County Police arrest and charge suspect in attempted sexual assault in Camp Springs.

Approximately 11:55 a.m. Saturday morning, police responded to a residence in Camp Springs to investigate an attempted assault. At the scene, the responding officer observed a naked man running from the residence.

ArrestA foot chase ended at the 5800 block of Auth Road, where the officer lost sight of the suspect. Officers canvased the area and found the suspect fully clothed walking on Auth Road, according to the report.

Preliminary investigation revealed the man forced his way into the victim’s residence and attempted to sexually assault her. He assaulted her stole several items from the residence, before fleeing the scene.

The suspect was later identified as Khary Edwards, 23, of the 4000 block of Wahler Court. Edwards was charged with attempted rape, attempted murder and robbery. He is being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
