Prince George’s County Police Apprehend Suspect Wanted In Suitland Double Homicide


Approximately 7:20 p.m. July 19, police were dispatched to an alleyway between two businesses in the 4600 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland. At the scene, the responding officers located two victims who were fatally wounded. The victims were later identified as Anthony Douglas, 23, of the 28th Avenue of Marlow Heights and Courtney Simms, 22, of 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills.

An investigation led to the arrest of one of the suspects who was identified as Jharrod Armstrong, 19, of the 1400 block of Fairmont Street in Northwest Washington. The second suspect, Robert Suesbury, 28, of the 1600 block of Euclid Street in Northwest Washington was apprehended without incident.

Police believe the motive was related to robbery. Armstrong and Suesbury have been charged with first- and second-degree murder, according to the news release.
