Police: Man With Loaded Handgun Arrested On Morgan State Campus
On Tuesday, Baltimore police responded to a report of a possible robbery suspect on Morgan State University’s campus, police said.
According to Larry Jones, a university spokesman, Morgan State officers were alerted of the incident around 8 p.m. At the time, city police believed the suspect had already fled the area.
A suspect fitting the description was spotted by one of the Morgan State security officers. Garnett Sears, 21, was arrested and a loaded firearm was confiscated. Police said Sears had thrown a backpack in an effort to conceal its contents.
Sears was charged with multiple handgun violations. School officials have confirmed that Sears is not a student at Morgan State.
