Police Identify Victim Of Baltimore National Pike Bicycle-Involved Collision


Baltimore County, Maryland – Just before 8:30 p.m. on May 25, 2018, Baltimore County Police responded to a crash on Baltimore National Pike at Rich Avenue, 21228. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound in the second lane of Baltimore National Pike when the car struck a man riding a bicycle. It appears that the bicyclist had changed lanes into the path of the car just before the collision.

ArrestBaltimore County Fire Department Medic 2 transported the bicyclist to St. Agnes Hospital where he was pronounced deceased just after 9:00 p.m. The bicyclist has been identified as Thomas Gerald Cofiell, who was 53 years old. The occupants of the Camry were not injured. Crash investigators are continuing to review this incident.
