Pennsylvania Woman Pleads Guilty To Defrauding Social Security


U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song announced Thursday a Pittsburgh woman pleaded guilty to theft of government money that was not entitled to her.

Sixty-four-year-old Rosemary Thomas received $98,949 in Social Security benefits of another person from January 2001 to February 2014. Thomas was not related to the individual, but she utilized the money as her own, according to the indictment.

Judge And Jury

Thomas faces a maximum fine of $250,000 and a 10-year prison sentence.
