Outer Banks season 1 recap.

The Outer Banks series finale ended in a frustrating fashion: cliff-hanging storylines left unresolved or only partially resolved – like whether Nathan was really dead after being stabbed by cult members back at their cabin hideout, where John Clayton has disappeared to after running away from Davis during an intense shootout.

Outer Banks Season One aired from July to September of 2017. The show saw Davis and his partner, John Clayton, investigate a series of murders in the outer bank’s region while being assisted by Sarah, who had moved from LA with their daughter Kylie after her husband was killed on duty. With each episode following a new case, season one unfolded as an intense whodunnit that involved everything from cults and black magic to serial killers and extraterrestrials.

Outer Banks season two spoilers.

Episode one opens like all other episodes do: with Chris Chalk’s character, Nick Davis, waking up at home with Katelyn Pearce’s character, Sarah, nearby as he eats breakfast. The first couple of scenes of Outer Banks season two are simple, with Davis and Sarah arguing about the status of their marriage.

Episode one also sees a lot more screen time for David Wilmot’s character, John Clayton. His storyline this season involves him coming to terms with his diagnosis of bipolar disorder, which he hid from the department for years. This is where Outerbanks season two begins: in an emotional conversation between him and Nick as they share some bourbon while discussing how best to handle it from here on out.
