Orange Brands Management To Lay Off 81 Workers In New York

Orange Brands Management filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New Your State Department Of Labor on October 2. The notice indicates the restaurant group will close its SUSHISAMBA restaurant at 87 7th Avenue in New York on January 1, 2018.

Business Closing

Orange Brands Management opened its first restaurant in 1999 in New York. It now has locations in Las Vegas, London, Miami and New York. According to the firm’s website, its SUSHISAMBA restaurant has long been a consumer and critic favorite.

The reason for the dislocation cited in the filing is “due to the expiration of their lease.” The 81 employees impacted by the layoff are not represented by a union and are expected to separate on December 30.
