Olean Advanced Products To Close And Lay Off 60 Employees

A Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the New York State Department of Labor on December 19, 2017 indicates Olean Advanced Products will cease operations and lay off 60 employees.

Business Closing

Production at the 1695 Seneca Avenue plant is moving to the Fountain Inn facility in South Carolina, the Olean Times Herald reports.

“I started out in Olean 25 years ago, and at that point the operation was moving,” Olean Advanced Products plant manager John Monahan said. “It was just a matter of time before it happened.”

The closing date and employee separation date was not disclosed in the filing. The affect employees are represented by the IBEW 1690, Office & Professional Employees International Union.
