On Monday, Ocean City officially opened its first boardwalk playground, which features a variety of pieces, including slides, steps and an overlook platform, all of which are surrounded by a safety barrier.
The project was funded through a 2015 grant from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Community Parks & Playgrounds.Susan Petito, Ocean City Recreation and Parks Director, says the town is delighted to provide the residents and visitors with a recreational resource that is specifically designed for children.
The playground connects the Wally the Whale and climbable dinosaur bones, which are located off the boardwalk on the beach.
