Oak-Mitsui To Close Its Hoosick Falls Plant And Lay Off 20 Employees


CAC, Inc. entered an agreement with Oak-Mitsui, Inc. to acquire its ABC assets and brand to make aluminum-bonded copper and sheeted cooper foil. The details of the deal were not disclosed, but Oak-Mitsui will close its Hoosick Falls facility on January 2, 2018, according to a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the New York State Department of Labor.

Business Closing

Oak-Mitsui, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Kinzoku, was formed when Oak Industries acquired Noble and Wood plant in 1973. In 1976, it joined with Mitsui Mining and Smelting of Japan to become Oak-Mitsui, Inc.

The employees housed in companies facility at 1 Mechanic Street is expected to separate on January 2, 208. The employees are not represented by a union.
