NoHo Star Will Lay Off 54 Employees In December


NoHo Star, a New York-based restaurant, filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification on September 26 with the New York State Department of Labor. The filing indicates that the restaurant will lay off 54 employees.

NoHo Star at 330 Lafayette Street in New York serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The restaurant, which opened in 1984, features a multi-cuisine menu.

According to the filing, the employees who are not represented by a union will be let go on December 31, the same day the restaurant will close. The reason for the dislocation cited on the filing is “economic.”
