Acting U.S. Attorney Stephen M. Schenning announced Monday a man from New Carrollton, Maryland was sentenced to 20 years in prison for enticing a female to travel to other states to engage in prostitution.
Thirty-four-year-old Jason David Young, aka “Bird,” “J Bird” and “Chris” was a pimp that utilized mental, emotional and physical abuse to control women and force them to engage in commercial sex acts from September 2013 through October 2015. Young frequently drove two females to Tennessee to engage in sex acts. He housed the women in a hotel and advertised their services online, according to court documents.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested the women during an undercover operation. In 2014, police pulled Young over and discovered a gun in his vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle, a woman, told police that the gun was hers. On December 15, 2014, Young was in possession of a stolen gun.
The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested Young for a parole violation on February 12, 2015. Two .45 caliber handguns were covered during the arrest from the ceiling inside of a shop, where Young was arrested. Police later determined that the guns were stolen from a prostitution customer who was a gun collector.
The women working for Young were also known for stealing firearms from customers and handing them over to Young. Police recovered Young’s cellphone, which contained graphic images of beatings he had inflicted on one of the women. He also utilized narcotics to control the women.
