As of this writing, Netflix has not officially renewed “The Chair” for a second season. The first one came out on August 20, 2021, so it will wait to see what people think in a month or two. But there are reasons to be hopeful.

She needs to change the system from the inside so future seasons could continue exploring this idea.

This show is about Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim. She is the first woman and person of color to be head of the English department at Pembroke University. Her job is to help students with their work, make sure the Dean stays happy, and more! The show can be funny but it can also be serious.

With her plate cleared, Ji-Yoon can now play more with JuJu. They have a rocky relationship and it will continue in the next chapter as JuJu tries to figure out who she is and where she belongs.

Bill is fighting to get his job back. In the meantime, he’ll be babysitting for a little girl. He and Ji-Yoon used to be on good terms, but they have not told each other that they love each other yet. Bill’s wife died recently and he is sad. But he has feelings for Ji-Y

Who will be starring in The Chair Season 2?

If “The Chair” comes back for another season, we might expect the same cast to come back. Sandra Oh will probably play Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim again. Throughout the first season, Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim went through lots of different problems, so she would probably have more adventures in future episodes.

Jay Duplass will be in “The Chair.” Jay is a director who makes movies like “The Puffy Chair” and “Jeff, Who Lives at Home.” He also acts. In the movie “Paper Towns,” he played a character called Troy. In this movie, he will play someone named Joaquin Phoenix.

Other actors we’d expect to return include Bob Balaban as Dr. Elliot Rentz, Holland Taylor as Dr. Joan Hambling, David Morse as Dean Paul Larson, EverlyCarganilla as Ju-Hee Kim, and Nana Mensah as Dr. Yaz McKay. Of course, as is the case with any new school year, expect some new faces to pop up, too.
