Baltimore police are investigating abduction that took place in West Baltimore. Three masked men abducted a 71-year-old man, forcing him into the back of a U-Haul truck. The suspects drove the man around town, before he was able to make an escape.
Around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night, police were flagged down by bystanders who said “an older man was taken out of his vehicle and forced into a U-Haul truck by masked men,” police spokesman T.J. Smith said.
Police made aware of the incident initiated an extensive search, Smith said.
Police received another call around 9:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Sinclair Lane in East Baltimore. When the officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim who told them he was able “to break away from the suspects.”
After riding around for a period of the time, the suspects pulled the U-Haul over, at which time the man jumped out and was able to flee the area.
The victim was not assaulted or robbed, but it appears that he was possibly related to someone the suspects were searching for.
