Maryland State Police Need Help Identifying Suspect In Laurel Assault/Road Rage Incident


Laurel, Maryland – State Police investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Central South Region seeks witnesses in an apparent first-degree assault/road rage incident in Prince George’s County.

The victim is not being identified at this time. He is a juvenile.  He was driving a red 1990 Honda Civic at the time of the incident and was the sole occupant in the vehicle.

Prince George's CountyThe suspect is not being identified at this time.  He was driving a gray 2004 BMW 5-series and was the sole occupant in the vehicle. No charges have been filed at this time.

For unknown reasons the two vehicles stopped between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the travel portion of MD 198 East in Laurel. The juvenile victim told police he exited his red Honda Civic and walked to the rear of his vehicle. While outside of the vehicle, the suspect, driving the gray BMW, reportedly accelerated and struck the victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to Prince George’s Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

Police believe the suspect left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.  Police also believe the two men involved know each other.
