Maryland State Police Need Help Identifying Suspect In Armed Robbery Of Shore Stop In Hebron


Maryland State Police say a suspect robbed an employee of Shore Stop at knifepoint Saturday.

Approximately 12:46 a.m., troopers responded to the 27430 Ocean Gateway in Wicomico County, Maryland to investigate an armed robbery. At the scene, the responding troopers made contact with an employee working nightshift at Shore Stop.

Shore Stop Robbery Suspect

Preliminary investigation revealed a man wielding a butcher knife entered the store and robbed the employee at knifepoint. The suspect stole cigarettes and cash, before fleeing the area.

The victim told police a small sedan accelerated on westbound Route 50 past the store soon after the suspect left the store. The suspect is described between 5-foot 5-inches and 5-foot 7-inches, “blueish” eyes, wearing a hat with “CHICAGO” in white lettering, camouflage long-sleeved shirt and gray/black tennis shoes.

A vehicle was reported stolen in Preston earlier on Saturday, matching the description provided by the store clerk. The vehicle was later recovered in Federalsburg and believed to the utilized in the armed robbery.
