Maryland State Police Investigating Shooting On I-70 In Carroll County


Mount Airy, Maryland – Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting that was reported on Interstate 70 east on Thursday evening in Carroll County.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, troopers were requested to respond to a call for a vehicle being shot at in the area of eastbound Interstate 70 near exit 68 (for Mt. Airy, Maryland). The female victim was driving a white Kia in that area and told investigators that her car had sustained damage.

A preliminary inspection of the vehicle by troopers revealed that the victim’s vehicle had been shot numerous times. The driver of the Kia, the sole occupant in the vehicle, was not injured during the incident.

Investigators are unsure at this time if the victim’s vehicle was specifically targeted. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack at 410-386-3001.
