Maryland State Police Investigating Homicide In Federalsburg, Maryland

Maryland State Police have confirmed that they’re carrying out an investigation to identify the person responsible for murdering a woman in Caroline County. The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Tameko L. Barham of the 400 block of Brown Road in Federalsburg, Maryland. Barham was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this point in time, police have pinpointed 49-year-old Stanley E. Ricketts Jr. as their primary suspect. Maryland State Police homicide investigators have secured a warrant charging Ricketts with first degree murder. A short time after 3:30 PM, officers with the Federalsburg Police Department reported to the victim’s address after receiving a call from one of the victim’s family members.

The investigation determined that family members went to the victim’s house to check on her after learning that she had not gone to work. The victim’s body was discovered in a shed on the property. Obvious trauma was found on the victim’s body. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. The search for the suspect is ongoing.
