Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal collision in Dorchester County. The accident took place early January 8, 2018. 50-year-old Yevette Young of Seaford, Delaware was declared deceased at the scene. The victim was driving a Nissan Xtera. Her passenger, 27-year-old Victor Randolph of Seaford, was taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. 35-year-old Solomon White of Dagsboro, Delaware was identified as the driver of the Freightliner. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and did not report any injuries.
Maryland State Police were notified of a crash involving a Freightliner and a Nissan Xtera shortly after 6 AM on January 8, 2018. The incident took place on Route 392 west of Finchville Road in Hurlock. A preliminary investigation has determined that White was traveling eastbound while Young was traveling westbound. For unknown reasons, White crosses the dotted yellow line and entered into the westbound lane of traffic.
The Freightliner entered into the travel path of Young and ultimately struck the driver side of the Nissan Xtera. The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded and conducted a detailed crash reconstruction. When completed, the investigation will be forwarded to the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office for review regarding charges.
