Maryland State Cruiser Involved In Collision With A Vehicle In Elkton


Maryland State Police say one of its own sustained non-life threatening injuries in Cecil County.

Trooper Philippi, a two-year veteran of the Maryland State Police, was traveling southbound on MD 279 approaching MD 213. When the trooper attempted to make a left turn onto southbound MD 213, a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze entering the intersection collided into the side of the patrol vehicle, according to the news release.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 23-year-old Jonah Taylor of Fort Edwards, New York. Taylor was not injured and remained on the scene.

The trooper was taken to Union Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
