Maryland mayor arrested: child porn charges

The mayor of College Park, Md., recently resigned on Wednesday. He was arrested on child pornography charges last Thursday. The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has suspected that there is a social media account that is distributing child pornography. The investigators further stated that the account belonged to Mayor Patrick Wojahn. Finally, the authorities conducted a search warrant wherein they recovered a storage device, a PC, a tablet, and a few cell phones.

A brief intro of Wojahn

Wojahn happens to be an a47-year-old guy who was arrested by the authorities early on Thursday morning. On releasing a search warrant at his residence last month, several pieces of evidence were recovered. They have even found 40 counts of possession of exploitative child material and 16 counts of its distribution. He wrote that he had done his best to coordinate with the officers regarding the issue in the resignation letter. He wrote, “Many of you have already reached out with well wishes and thoughts, and I am eternally grateful. I am stepping away to deal with my mental health. I ask that you keep my family and me in your prayers.” Until a special election happens, the city of College, Parkwhichohase, received the title of presiding officer compelling urgently.
