Mare Nostrum in Fells Point shuttered its doors for the last time earlier this week. The Turkish restaurant at 716 South Broadway is among the many businesses to close in Baltimore this year.
Mare Nostrum is of the Latin origin, meaning “our sea.” The restaurant regularly hosted live music and flamenco shows. Merter Akbay designed the restaurant’s interior, which was inspired by Bodrum culture.
Other restaurant closures include Colette in Station North, Le Garage in Hampden and Langermann’s in Canton.
