Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Jumping From I-695 Overpass In Woodlawn


Baltimore County, Maryland – Baltimore County Police are continuing to investigate after receiving calls for a man jumping from an I-695 overpass in the Woodlawn Precinct.

9-1-1 began receiving calls around 2:30 p.m. for a man who jumped off of the Crosby Road overpass onto I-695. Witnesses described the man climbing over a fencing barrier and intentionally jumping off of the overpass. He struck the hood of a vehicle traveling on the outer loop and partially rolled underneath the vehicle, which stopped at the scene. No one in the vehicle was injured. The man, 22, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is presently listed in serious but stable condition.

The incident, which did not cause any other reported crashes, immediately caused traffic congestion on both the inner and outer loops in the area, carrying into the evening rush hour.
