Baltimore police are investigating after a passenger in a “hack” taxi was robbed and shot in Druid Hill Park late Thursday.
Around 11:14 p.m., an unlicensed taxi driver robbed a 37-year-old man who was a passenger at the time. The cab was driven to the Druid Hill Park, where the incident took place. The man’s cellphone and money was taken, before he was shot in the chest, police said.
The victim transported himself to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.
The shooting took place less than an hour before the “nobody kill anybody” ceasefire initiative was to begin.
As of Thursday night, the city’s homicide count was 208.
