Man Gets 21 Months In Prison For Child Abuse That Took Place On Navajo Reservation

U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi sentenced an Arizona man Monday to 13 months in prison for physically abusing a child on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

Judge And JuryThirty-six-year-old Nathan Joe of Nazlini slapped a child, resulting in a handprint-size bruise to form across the child’s face. Joe and the minor victim were residing on the Navajo Indian reservations at the time the assault took place, according to the report.

Joe is an enrolled member of that tribe.
