Lusby, Maryland Man Arrested For Making Threat Of Mass Violence


On January 13, 2019, the Maryland State Police arrested a man for making a threat of mass violence. The accused has been identified as 38-year-old Travis Phifer of Lusby, Maryland. Phifer has been charged with making a threat of mass violence. The accused was located in a vehicle a short distance from the Prince Frederick Barrack. Police received a phone call shortly after 4 PM regarding a man threatening to shoot into the police barrack. The caller was ultimately identified as Travis Phifer.

Investigators quickly located Phifer in a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 4. Phifer was the passenger in the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on Route 4 near Old Field Lane at 5:01 PM. The accused was arrested without incident and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center. He will await an appearance before a Court Commissioner.

The investigation is ongoing.
