Lupulo Restaurant To Close And Lay Off 55 Employees


100 Sardines Management LLC, doing business as Lupulo, filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on October 20. The notice indicates Lupulo at 835 Avenue of the Americas in New York will close by the end of 2017.

Lupulo Michelin-starred George Mendes founded Lupulo located on the northwest corner of 29th Street and 6th Avenue in New York City. The restaurant provides an approachable, relaxed atmosphere complemented by Mendes’ traditional Portuguese foods, according to the company’s website.

The restaurant will close on December 21, the same day the affected employees are expected to separate, according to the filing.
