Howard County Police Investigating Motorcycle Collision In Ellicott City


Howard County Police say a collision involving a motorcycle left 46-year-old man in critical condition.

Approximately 10 a.m. Sunday morning, a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound in the 6100 block of Meadowridge Road, when a 2011 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound make a left turn in front of the motorcycle.


To avoid a collision, the operator laid the motorcycle down. Eugene Alfred Shields of Ellicott City sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition, according to the report.

The driver of the Chevy Silverado, 62-year-old Loren Douglas McDaniel of Baltimore was not injured.

Meadowridge Road between Old Stockbridge Road and Route 100 was closed for about two hours.
