Howard County Police are investigating a fatal collision that took place in Ellicott City early Sunday morning.
Approximately 12:35 a.m., police responded Route 100 in Ellicott City to investigate a reported collision. At the scene, officers located a 2006 Toyota Camry resting on a guardrail.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Camry was traveling westbound on Route 100 at a high rate of speed, when it veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The driver was pronounced deceased “after being transported to Howard County General Hospital.”
The driver has been identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Marenga Mburu of Ellicott City. The investigation is ongoing.
