Howard County Police Identify Victim In Columbia Fatal Collision


At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, Howard County Police were dispatched to the 6500 block of Dobbin Road to investigate a pedestrian involved collision. At the scene, officers located a 57-year-old female suffering from life threatening injuries in the roadway.

ArrestMedics transported the woman to Howard County General Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Nissan Altima struck the victim, when she was crossing Dobbin Road. She was wearing dark clothing and was not in an intersection or crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Nissan, 34-year-old Sung Jong Kim of Reisterstown, remained at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Maria Erlinda ulloa Licona of Columbia.

Kim was not injured and is not facing any charges at this time. The investigation is ongoing, according to the report.

Stanford Boulevard and McGaw Road reopened approximately two hours later.
