Howard County Police Identify Three Suspects In Columbia Stabbing

Columbia, Maryland – Howard County police have arrested three Columbia teens for a stabbing Dec. 18 that left another teen injured. Dakiah Robinson, 18, of Eliots Oak Road; Malcom Moore, 18, of Brook Way; and Zarek Lynch, 17, also of Brook Way, all are charged as adults with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Robinson is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. Moore and Lynch are still in the booking process.

Accident Scene

The victim, Shane McCray, 18, of Green Mountain Circle in Columbia, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is currently listed in good condition.

Police responded to the Wilde Lake area of Columbia around 4:46 p.m. Dec. 18 after a caller reported that there was a subject who appeared to be injured. Responding officers located McCray with two stab wounds.

Through investigation, police believe McCray was walking on a footpath behind Daystar Court toward Wilde Lake High School. As he approached the school on the path between the parking lot and football field, a group of teens confronted and assaulted him. Police later identified Robinson, Moore and Lynch as the attackers.

Detectives have learned that the incident likely stemmed from a fight in early December at the school, where all three suspects are students. McCray is a former student at the same school. Investigators believe the teens knew one another.
