Howard County Police Identify Suspect In Xtra Mart Armed Robbery


Howard County Police announced the arrest of a suspect in an Elkridge robbery on October 7.

Approximately 9:50 p.m., police responded to the 7300 block of Washington Boulevard to investigate an armed robbery. At the scene, the responding officers located an Xtra Mart employee who reported the suspect entered the store, approached the counter, brandished a gun and demanded money.

The employee complied with the demands and the suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of money.

Through investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as 58-year-old William Craig Bane of Audrey Avenue in Brooklyn. Bane has been charged with robbery, armed robbery, theft and assault.
