Howard County Police Identify Suspect In Two Separate Laurel Robberies


Howard County Police investigated two separate robberies in Laurel on October 23 and October 28. Through investigation, detectives determined 29-year-old Nortel Clayton of Canterbury Riding in Laurel was responsible for both robberies.

ArrestApproximately 8:16 October 23, Clayton allegedly entered the Dollar Plus in the 9100 block of All Saints Road, implied a weapon and stole cash before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported, according to the report.

Approximately 1:11 p.m. October 28, Clayton entered the Urban Market in the 9100 block of All Saints Road, implied a weapon and demanded cash. The employee refused and activated an alarm, causing Clayton to flee the scene.

No injuries or stolen merchandise were reported. Clayton was arrested and charged with robbery, attempted robbery, armed robbery, theft, attempted theft and assault.
