Howard County Police Department Investigating An Armed Robbery In Elkridge

Howard County Police say a man robbed an Xtra Mart employee at gunpoint Saturday night.

Police responded to a reported armed robbery in the 7300 block of Washington Boulevard. Upon arrival, the responding officers met with an employee with Xtra Mart who said a man in his 50s entered the store, approached the counter, brandished a gun and demanded cash, according to the release.

Accident Scene

The employee complied and the suspect fled the area with an unspecified amount of money. The suspect is described as a male with gray hair and bear wearing khakis and a blue shirt.

Approximately 7:01 a.m. Friday, police responded to a burglary at ASAP Cleaners in the 2400 block of Longstone Lane in Marriottsville. Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect(s) entered the business by breaking a glass door. The owner reported unspecified amount of cash missing.

The suspect(s) burglarized Trattoria Montese at 2470 Longstone Lane and stole cash. Police believe the burglaries may be related.
