Howard County Police Are Investigating A Shooting Inside An Ellicott City Wal-Mart


Howard County Police say a man was shot at an Ellicott City Wal-Mart Saturday night.

Police responded to a report of gunfire and an altercation in the 3200 block of North Ridge Road around midnight. At the scene, the responding officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment.

ArrestThe preliminary investigation led police to believe the man was shot inside the Wal-Mart store during an altercation. In retaliation, the man returned to his vehicle, got his gun and discharged several shots towards the store, according to the release.

Police said no other injuries were reported. Witnesses at the scene, told police the suspect who fired the initial gunshot inside Wal-Mart fled the area. He is described at 6-feet, 20-25 years old, with a thin build.
