Howard County Police Announce Arrest Of Suspected Drug Dealer


Howard County Police arrest suspected dealer, Alexis Escobar, Tuesday. He was briefly held in the Howard County Detention Center, before posting $75,000 bail.

An ongoing investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Alexis Escobar of Cheverly, police said. After obtaining a search warrant for Escobar’s 2006 Toyota Prius, narcotics detectives initiated a search for the vehicle, which was later located in the 8700 block of Washington Boulevard.Various drugs, Xanax, cocaine, Oxycodone, marijuana and buprenorphine was recovered from the Toyota, police said. The drugs are undergoing testing to see if they contain traces of the deadly opioid fentanyl.

Some opioids, such as Oxycodone, being sold on the streets in Howard County contain fentanyl, according to undercover narcotics detectives.

Escobar was charged with multiple counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.
