Howard County Police Announce Arrest In Island Carousel Robbery, Assault


Howard County Police arrest suspect connected to a robbery in the Island Carousel in the Columbia Mall.

Around 4 p.m. August 5, a female entered the Columbia Mall and stole money out of the cash register at the Island Carousel. The woman shoved an employee who confronted her and pulled another employee to the ground by her hair and bit her hand, when she tried to intervene, according to police.

Police later identified the woman as 22-year-old Ahleyah Marie Rockwell of Skyrock Court in Columbia. The 69-year-old employee who suffered a bite to her hand was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Before fleeing the mall, Rockwell shoved a bystander who tried to intervene. She was charged with theft, multiple counts of assault and robbery.
